Recombinant Mouse CD30 Ligand

- -
BackgroundThe CD30 ligand is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily. CD30L is expressed on the cell surface of activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes. Recombinant CD30L has been shown to co-stimulate T cells and to act as a mitogen for Hodgkin's disease derived cell lines. The receptor for CD30L, CD30/ TNFRSF8/CD153, is a type I cytokine receptor that is highly expressed by activated T cells, Hodgkin and Reed- Sternberg (H-RS) cells, and anaplastic large cell lymphoma cells. CD30 ligation by CD30L mediates pleiotropic effects including cell proliferation, activation, differentiation and cell death by apoptosis.
