Quality Tested by Leinco This antibody may be used in ELISA, Western blot, coagulation assays and for immunopurification of Factor XII. Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications. See directions on lot specific datasheets, as information may periodically change. DescriptionSpecificity Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with the heavy
chain of human Factor XII (mw~50,000)
with KD of 9.8nM and partially blocks
Factor XII activity. The specific epitope or this antibody is located within a 20
amino acid sequence of 2.5 kD in the
surface binding area of Factor XII. Function Factor XII is a serum glycoprotein that participates in the initiation of blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, and the generation of bradykinin and angiotensin. Prekallikrein is cleaved by factor XII to form kallikrein, which then cleaves factor XII first to alpha-factor XIIa and then trypsin cleaves it to beta-factor XIIa. Alpha-factor XIIa activates factor XI to factor XIa. {PubMed:21304106}. NCBI Gene Bank ID UniProt.org Research Area Coagulation factors References & CitationsPixley et al.
