Antibody DetailsProduct DetailsReactive Species Human Host Species Mouse Immunogen Purified Recombinant Human IL-4 (Accession # P05112) Formulation This monoclonal antibody has been 0.2 µm filtered and lyophilized from modified Dulbecco's phosphate buffered saline (1X PBS) pH 7.2 - 7.3 containing 5.0% w/v trehalose with no calcium, magnesium or preservatives present. Storage and Handling The lyophilized antibody can be stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C for up to twelve months. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for at least four weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted antibody, aseptically aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. No detectable loss of activity was observed after six months. Country of Origin USA Shipping Next Day Ambient RRIDAB_2830753 Applications and Recommended Usage? Quality Tested by Leinco Western Blotting: To detect Human IL-4 this monoclonal antibody can be used at a concentration of 1-2 µg/ml. This monoclonal antibody should be used in conjunction with compatible second-step reagents such as PN:M114 and a chromogenic substrate such as PN:T343. The detection limit for Human IL-4 is 50 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The sensitivity of detection may increase up to 50 fold when a chemiluminescent substrate is used. A suitable Western blotting control is PN:I-186. Additional Applications Reported In Literature ? Neutralization: This antibody is useful for neutralization of Human IL-4 bioactivity. The antibody dose required to neutralize 50% (ND50) of the biological activity of Human IL-4 (at 0.5 ng/ml) is 0.5 - 1.5 µg/ml. Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications. See directions on lot specific datasheets, as information may periodically change. DescriptionDescriptionSpecificity Clone 34019 recognizes an epitope on human IL-4. This antibody shows no cross-reactivity with rmIL-4, rpIL-4, rcrIL-4, rrIL-4 and rhIL-13 Background IL-4 is a 15-19 kD pleiotropic immune cytokine secreted by activated TH2 cells. It has many biological roles, including the regulation in humoral and adaptive immunity, the inhibition of bone resorption, the stimulation of activated B-cell and T-cell proliferation, and initiation of allergic responses. Moreover, IL-4 induces a positive feedback loop by stimulating differentiation of naive helper T cells, or Th0 cells, to Th2 cells which in turn secrete more IL-4. Increased IL-4 production and overproduction of IL-4R are found in many cancers. IL-4 has a significant effect on tumor progression by increasing apoptosis resistance via tumor growth enhancement. IL-4 may also play a part in the immune dysregulation that occurs in most HIV-1 infected patients. PubMed Research Area Other Molecules References & Citations1. Pike, JW. et al.
