Background

The Epstein–Barr Virus, also called Human Herpesvirus 4 (HHV-4), is one of eight known human herpesvirus types and is one of the most common viruses in humans. It is best known for causing mononucleosis or glandular fever and is also associated with certain forms of cancer.

Product Preparation
The protein contains a C-terminal fragment of EBNA1 (Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1) are produced in E. coli and purified by affinity chromatography in the presence of urea. Purity of ≥ 95 % is confirmed via SDS-PAGE (Coomassie staining). The antigens are suitable for the detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against EBV. The main antigen for the detection of IgM antibodies is the capsid antigen p18. Molecular mass: 38 kDa.
Storage and Stability
Store at -65°C or lower. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 10 years from date of manufacture (under recommended storage conditions).
