Background

Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative, microaerophilic bacterium that belongs to the Helicobacteraceae family. More than 50 % of the world's population have H. pylori in their upper gastrointestinal tract. For the production of the native antigen Helicobacter pylori (strain NCTC 11637) is cultivated on solid medium and the antigen is partly purified by extraction and centrifugation.
