BackgroundMycoplasma pneumoniae is a small bacterium lacking the peptidoglycan cell-wall and belongs to the Mollicutes class. It is a human pathogen and causes the disease mycoplasma pneumonia, a form of an atypical bacterial pneumonia which is sometimes difficult to treat by antibiotics. Product Preparation The native antigen Mycoplasma pneumoniae (strain FH) is cultivated in broth culture and the organisms are detergent extracted to produce the P1-adhesin enriched antigen. The antigen is suitable for the detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against M. pneumoniae. Storage and Stability Store at -65°C or lower. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
