Description

Background
Neurturin (NRTN) is a potent neurotrophic factor.1 NRTN supports the survival of cultured sympathetic neurons and sensory neurons of the nodose and dorsal root ganglia. Neurturin is structurally related to GDNF (Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor).2 NRTN has been demonstrated to act specifically on mesencephalic dopaminergic neurons, suggesting its therapeutic potential for Parkinson's disease (PD).3
