When excited by 488nm laser light, it can be detected with 562-588nm band pass filter. It is commonly used in evaluation of cell viability or DNA content in cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry. Propidium Iodide Solution can also be used in evaluation of apoptosis, cell viability and cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry. Directions for Use The suggested use of this PI solution is 5-10 µl per 106 cells in 0.5 ml/test, and incubate for 15 minutes at 4 °C before analysis. Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications. See directions on lot specific datasheets, as information may periodically change.
