Recombinant Human MCP-1 (Mucin Stalk Chimera)

Monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) is an essential chemokine produced predominantly by macrophages and endothelial cells and is a potent chemotactic factor for monocytes.^1,2,3 It can induce the proliferation and activation of killer cells known as CHAK (CC-Chemokine-activated killer). MCP-1 is also a potent activator of human basophils, induces degranulation and the release of histamines. MCP-1 is involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction.⁴

The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Human MCP-1 is Mr 35 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS-PAGE is Mr 70-95 kDa.

This lyophilized protein is stable for six to twelve months when stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C.
