BackgroundProkineticin 2 (PK2) is a cysteine-rich secreted protein1 that is expressed in the testis and in lower levels of the small intestine. PK2 regulates various biological functions including gastrointestinal motility, angiogenesis, circadiam rhythms, and neurogenesis of olfactory bulb.2 It is closely related to EG-VEGF (Prokineticin-1) and binds to two orphan B-protein-coupled receptors termed PK-R1 and PK-R2. PK2 plays roles in both circadian and homeostatic regulation of sleep. PK2 may also be involved in maintaining the awake state in the presence of behavioral challenges.3 Protein DetailsPurity >98% by SDS Page and HPLC Endotoxin Level <1.0 EU/µg Biological Activity Data not yet available.
